So I got 2 buffet lamps recently and the red lamp shades didn’t match our purple, black and white bedroom.  So I first wrapped silver/white ribbon around the shade in one direction tightly, then I wrapped the purple ribbon around the other direction leaving spaces to create a striped look that matches our bedspread and curtains.  This is what the end result was- I love it!!

The ribbon gave it a cool texture- I was going to add beads to them, but it’s not necessary now.
